Beautiful sculptural art glass vase attributed to Mstišov Glassworks, Czechoslovakia, dating from the 1960s.
The vase is hand-shaped from thick glass in a striking combination of deep forest green, vivid emerald green and warm olive tones. The colours flow through the substantial glass body, creating beautiful optical effects and changing considerably depending on the angle and light.
The strongly asymmetric form culminates in a dramatically elongated, pulled rim, giving the vase an expressive sculptural quality characteristic of post-war Czechoslovak art glass.
Mstišov became particularly celebrated for its colourful, experimental glass production during the 1950s and 1960s, including the famous Rhapsody range. This vase shares the expressive use of colour and hot-worked organic forms associated with the factory, although the exact model and designer have not been identified.
Excellent original vintage condition with no damages or chips.
