Beautiful dining chair produced in 1973 by LIPTA company in Czechoslovakia. Original label still attached. The chair is made of carved larch wood boards.
The chair shows beautiful design originating in the Czechoslovakian folk style. There are beautiful carved details used on the backrest, seat as well as the legs of the chair. Even the style the backrest is stabilized into the seat shows inspiration in the traditional folk design. This was the combination used by the Communist regime in Czechoslovakia which wanted to use the folk motives in the factory produced furniture. However, this style never really caught on in Czechoslovakia and only a small number of these chairs were produced. They still serve as a reminder of the past regime and great quality of manufacture that still stands strong. The chair is in a very good condition after restoration.
